Elizabeth City, Pasquotank River

Bright, clear, light breeze, cool

All sixteen rafted boats started up like Le Mans for the run to the South Mill Lock. Departure was orderly, but we did end up kind of jammed up when we all arrived at the lock early. Many of us took branches and leaves aboard in the maneuvers required to deal with the surging currents associated with opening lock gates. This lock crew was every bit as professional as the Deep Creek crew and our passage was uneventful. We arrived at Paul & Joyce’s dock just before lunch. Great timing.
