Segment Two Begins — Cooper River Marina

Warm, rain-soaked.

After a nine-hour drive, we arrived after dark and proceeded directly to the Holiday Light display on James Island. Put on by the county, it’s the best we’ve ever seen. Back aboard, the boat was in excellent shape, but a wind from the absolutely worst direction and against the 2.7 mph tidal current had Brilliant Star heaving and hobby-horsing and lurching so much we opted for Dramamine. All things considered we were asleep about the time our heads hit the pillows
