Unfortunately, we had to leave Church Creek in about as much dark as we arrived to clear the Dawho River entrance at half-tide rising (this becomes a mantra). While we saw plenty of water, a mark is still missing and we ended up crossing a shoal that would not have worked out very well for us had the tide been 2 feet lower (just an hour earlier here).
To compensate for the early departure, we anchored at noon in the Ashepoo River, and after I made ham and cheese Belgian Waffles we zonked for a while. We stayed current rode the whole time and the narrowness of the river gave us zero wave action. The day never got brighter than gray.
