Short and Sweet — Upper Pungo River

A Wx replay of yesterday.

Today we traveled less than two hours. We were last in this river on 11 Nov 2008. It looked so different then. The sun was dimmed by high clouds and by being past the equinox. The water was flat calm — the grasses already burned back by a hard frost. We listened to Veterans’ Day concert music. By sunset we were sharing the place with 16 other boats. Today, we are sharing it with a few hundred crab pots, two waterman working those pots, and no one else. The sky is bright, but showers are spinning off a Low to our SE. Spring has freshened all the colors. We are just under 11 miles from our last anchorage. This is a bit more sheltered for the frontal passage predicted. It’s a low energy front, but preparation is the key to keeping the table level during dinner.
