Diminishing Daylight

We have become migratory to the same degree as our flint-flaking ancestors. We don’t follow the caribou herds, we follow the sun and the insurance policy limits — the shamans change, but the need to manage risk remains.

We are fascinated by things meteorological and astronomical, and the internet feeds that fascination by allowing access to lessons and tools we would have had to audit at a school somewhere.

Class Action” is an excellent site for some deeper understanding of practical (as in daily useful) astronomy.

In particular, their Daylight Hours tool is helpful in voyage planning. To facilitate the spread of learning, the page can be saved and launched on one’s browser when offline.
