Sailed back north from Fort Pierce. With a good SE’ly, we only needed the genoa to make 5 knots. We talked of cabbages and kings and modifying the davits to make the dinghy more useful.

We have come to the conclusion we need to do some exploring around the islands in the lagoon with a depth sounder and GPS to see if we can’t find a few more places to anchor. Right now we are anchored in nine feet where the chart says “2.” We have to believe there are other places where similar situations can be found.

As we approached Vero Beach, we realized the Blue Angels were practicing for this weekend’s air show. We got quite a show ourselves with quite a bit right (cover our ears) overhead. That’s not a telephoto shot above (objects were closer than they appeared). It was a celebration of aviation, of excellence and America. One could not tell they had been grounded for 11 months by the idiocy of sequestration.
